Queen Mary 2

Queen Mary 2

Being at Hythe Marine Park provides an ideal opportunity for a bit of ship spotting.

Here you see the Queen Mary 2 nosing her way out of Southampton, bound for more northern climes.

I have spent a few pleasant evenings on my back deck in the late afternoon sun, with the marine radio on in the background, so I know which vessels are about, and a cool beer to hand, simply watching the world go by.

  2. Very cool, Tim. I was in Boston on the weekend of the 4th and the grand lady happened to be there as well.
(I managed to get some decent shots of her behind the USS Constitution) The boat I was on did a cruise by her and I couldn't help but think of you and LJ.

You must have taken that around about the time we text. Heade off straight into the teeth of a North sea gale all the way to Stavanger Norway but with the exception of a lurch now and then she was fine. Looking out at the size of the seas I thought of those guys who used to take Lady Jane out in weather like that, I take my hat off to them. Speak soon, Regards John
