Webcam

Webcam image

Lady Jane's webcam.

I've experimented with a webcam on and off for some time now, but have not really spent any time on it.

Seeing as it's so sunny and bright down here, I thought it would be a shame not to give it another go - at least while I was about and had the mains power available to run the PC.

Maybe I'll see about adding a smaller version of it directly into this blog page somehow.

Good idea Tim. Just thought I'd let you know, I am on other than my normal laptop just now. Since it doesn't have your site bookmarked, I Googled your site. It was the number one hit on the list.

  2. Oh very cool Tim, nice to be able to se what you do. I wish I had a nighttime one. We gets tons of wildlife in our yard everynight, would be cool to watch them. Is it hard to set it up,meaning how do you get it to be online updating all the time?

  4. Hi Rhianna

    It's surprisingly easy.

    1) Get a webcam (they are cheap).

    2) Have a website someplace.

    3) Download Yawcam software (free)

    4) Point the Yawcam at a directory in your website

    4) Steal the html of someone's webcam page & put a suitably modified version up on your website.

    Cheers

  5. Thanks, Tim, for the instructions to Rhianna. I've considered a KJ-cam for a while too. Perhaps the view from the hot tub? Probably off the flying bridge, actually. Love to see how it goes for you.
