A lucky escape

I saw this and just had to post it. There is so much wrong here.

I try to always wear a life vest, but confess I rarely wear my kill-chord (it's always such a hassle). You obviously need both!

Changing the way I do things and clipping the kill-chord to my life jacket, like I've seen Ken from Maggie Best do, should fix this completely.

  2. Hi Rob

It's a fascinating watch, and as you say a good reminder.

I grew up in Labrador fishing in the North Atlantic and used an outboard motor every day and i've learned that idiots always sit on the side of the boat that the motor steering handle is on therefore limiting the turn arc of the motor and restricting space for the driver.Sit on the side away from the steering handle and you have more room for the motor to swing as you drive with your left hand....and with your right hand away from the motor you can easily hold onto somthing...ie a mug of beer..oh yes...never drink and drive.Great post Tim.

  5. I assumed all would end "well" but must admit to have suffered a few shivers at the thought of what that motor propeller might have done to that guy's head...
    Doesn't bear thinking about.
