No tow hitch? No problem.

No tow hitchI saw this and thought "I've just got to get a picture of this"

In truth, it's not what it first appears.

I had a chat with the guy responsible. It turns out that all he needed was something to secure the trailer to, while he pushed the boat backwards a bit to clean the spot beneath the rollers.

  1. All well and good, just using the car as a handy anchor, but was it really necessary for him to apply quite so much knitting around every inch of the drawbar? Surely a simple bowline through that triangular loop under the bar would have been plenty.

  2. Hi Pete

If you can't do proper knots, do big ones.

For example, how many times have you seen the rather spectacular round turn and 6 (or so) half hitches.

  3. Round turn and lots of half hitches - whenever my dad comes sailing :-)
