Larinka

LarinkaI've seen quite a bit of this trimaran up and down the River Itchen recently.

Larinka is certainly a distinctive looking vessel, with the funkiest sail setup I've ever seen.

I wonder if we will see sails like these on the fast racing yachts any time soon?

  2. Yeah! she's my current neighbour at the (insanely expensive) launch pontoon.. Apparently her trip last week was her first voyage since what her bosun calls a 'rip-off-refit'. The wing is computer controlled, weighs a total of 600kg, and is made from the same stuff that light aircraft wings are covered with stretched over foam ribs..

It's weird, and I like it.
