Cleanup progress

Cleanup progressIt's a background task, I know, but nevertheless pretty important.

Over the years the engine room and fiddly deck (the space above the engine room, shown in the picture) have been getting progressively more filthy.

It really needs to be cleaned up, and painted, for a couple of reasons:

  • The rust needs attending to anyway, to get a grip

  • It makes the space a much cheerier place to work in

  • Cleaning gives me a chance to find any problems

  • The accumulated oil and dirt on deck is unsafe
The sheer size of this job is not to be under-estimated. So far, Fred, Andy and Pat have all slaved away at helping clean up the place.

Readers who have been on Lady Jane before now will recognise just how clean, and clear, the fiddly deck space now looks.

Finally the rusty patches inside are being disappeared.

  1. I always say, it doesn't have to be pretty, it is just nice if it is tidy.

Keep up the great work Tim.

  2. Thanks Tana

I like to think of it as slow, steady progress.

Kind of like watching the tide coming in. If you watch closely, you see no difference, but if you step back and look every so often you really notice the change.
